Villa cetinale, Tuscany

Villa Cetinale is a 17th century villa in the countryside near Siena.
Designed by the architect Carlo Fontana, in the Roman Baroque style, the villa was built in 1680 by Cardinal Flavio Chigi for Pope Alexander VII — Fabio Chigi.
The gardens at Villa Cetinale are renowned as being amongst the most beautiful in Italy.
The property is located 5 km from the village of Sovicille. Cetinale gardens are filled with climbing roses, lilies, irises, and vine-covered pergolas. In the spring months the wisteria covers the Villa walls and walkways in a sea of purple.
Cetinale was acquired from the Chigi family in 1978, and occupied by Lord Lambton, who together with his partner Claire Ward, worked tirelessly on restoring the house and its gardens until his death in 2006.
The Villa has recently undergone major refurbishment, including a new roof, new plumbing, heating and wiring, as well as several new bathrooms. All of this has been achieved without altering the original character or appearance of the house, which is now available for private rental for the first time.
The Villa can only be rented on a weekly basis; it has a private heated swimming pool and Tennis court.
25 adults can be accomodate in the main villa (9 double rooms, 3 twin bedded rooms and 1 single, 13 bathrooms), and other guests can be accommodated in other properties near the villa.
All the outdoor areas are stunning and suitable for ceremony, cocktail, wedding dinner and dancing.
The outdoor can accommodate more than 250 people.
The interior of the villa can accommodate maximum 26 people.There is a limonaia that can be used in case of rain that can accommodate maximum 70/80 people.
