Villa Balbianello, (Lake Como)
Villa Balbianello is located on a promontory ( and can only be reached from the lake by boats ) and overlooks a wide panorama that makes it one of the most scenic venues of the Lake of Como.
The founder of Villa Balbianello was Cardinal Durini, a philanthropist, lover of art and literature , who at the end of the eighteenth century chose this corner of the Lake, to make his personal retreat.
A vocation recovered in modern times by Guido Monzino, entrepreneur, collector and passionate traveler, who in 1974 made the Villa his home, where to keep the memories of his adventurous life.
Donated to Fai, ( fondo ambiente italiano) which today preserves its vestiges, the Villa and its gardens culminate in the eighteenth-century “Loggia Durini”, which represents one of the most iconic places to exchange the vows.
The Villa is open to the public and can be privatized for events in different ways. Both for ceremonies and for private dinners.
The loggia Segré can accomodate up to 60 guests seated, while if you are more than 100 guests you need a marquee to host your wedding reception.
